Arctic Winter Games 2024 Dates. The arctic winter games celebrate athletic competition, cultural exchange and social interaction and features participants from northwest territories, yukon, nunavut, alaska, kalaallit nunaat, nunavik (northern quebec), northern alberta and the indigenous people (sami) of norway, sweden and finland. Participants have been known to showcase yoiking, a traditional song form of the sami peoples, inuit throat singing, regional styles of traditional drumming and dancing, as well as modern expressions of regional heritage.
